Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire launch Creative Arts Group

Published on 31 May 2023 02:24 PM

Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire are delighted to announce the creation of our Creative Arts Social Group - which will run every week starting from Friday 9th June.

The new group is a chance for people to come together to try a range of art materials and styles, research other artists, experience demonstrations from other local artists or even just come along for a cuppa and some cake!

All artwork will be exhibited at our Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire headquarters, where the sessions will be held, for family, friends and staff to come and view.

Our fantastic Social Inclusion and well-being team run a wide range of activities across the two counties that keep people active and get them out and about socialising.

Speaking of the new group, our Social Inclusion and Wellbeing Manager, Caroline Savage says, “It’s a great opportunity for people of all abilities to come together and create something in a fun, relaxed environment, to learn new skills or rediscover old ones. Research on being creative has been proven to help improve quality of life and well-being, from better cognitive function, memory, and self-esteem to reduced stress and increased social interaction.”

The sessions will be relaxed and will run every Friday from 1pm until 3pm at our base in Malvern Gate, Bromwich Road, Worcester, WR2 4BN. The first session is free, with the following sessions requiring a £3 donation that will help fund the group’s activities.

If you are interested, please get in touch and reserve a space! We anticipate demand may be high so it’s best to reserve as soon as possible.
