Age UK Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford is pleased to support an exciting research study being carried out by Kent and Medway Medical School. The study is exploring the use of a new portable MRI brain scanner, with the aim of making brain imaging more accessible for a wider range of people.

Researchers are currently looking for volunteers to take part in the study. By getting involved, participants will help contribute to important research that could improve how brain health is assessed and understood in the future.
Taking part in the study involves a brain scan using a new ultra low-field MRI scanner, alongside some simple memory and thinking tasks. Participants will also be asked to complete a short questionnaire about their wellbeing and lifestyle. As a thank you for their time, volunteers will receive a £30 Amazon voucher.
The scans will take place at Canterbury Christ Church University. The study is currently open to individuals who do not have neurological or mental health conditions.
If you are interested in taking part, or would like to find out more, you can contact the research team directly by emailing ALFIstudy@kmms.ac.uk, or by scanning the QR code provided on the flyer.
By supporting research such as this, we can help improve future care and understanding of brain health, particularly for older people in our communities.
