Shopping around for a new utility tariff

From 1st April 11 million customers in the UK who are on out-of-contract energy tariffs could see their bills increase.  This is because an increase to the price cap on these tariffs was announced recently by the energy regulator.  You are likely be on an out-of-contract tariff if you haven’t switched supplier or tariff in a while, but you should get 30 days’ notice from your energy supplier if they plan to increase their prices.

Consumers who are on an “out-of-contract tariff” and who want to avoid the increase and save money should shop around ahead of the increase in the price cap on 1 April.
