Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire is an independent local charity – a brand partner of Age UK – supporting more than 5,000 people every week, making a real difference to lives of older people in our area. We are looking to appoint a new Volunteering and Befriending Coordinator to join our organisation supporting people in the Lindsey and North Lincolnshire area.

  • Community based with some office working when required
  • 35 hours a week Monday - Friday
  • £23,707 per annum
  • Driving licence is essential

About the role

As the Volunteering & Befriending Coordinator you will develop, promote and evaluate the volunteering services and volunteering opportunities on behalf of Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire. Working closely with the Volunteering Manager, this role involves assessing and meeting the organisation’s needs through recruitment, placement, and retention of volunteers. The successful applicant requires knowledge and experience of working with volunteers and should have a good understanding of the voluntary sector. You will manage the delivery, promotion and development of volunteer services including social activities and Befriending across the organisation, whilst maintaining accredited awards achieved.

A kind, enthusiastic and empathetic nature along with an appreciation of the needs of older adults is required. The ability to communicate effectively is essential to the role. Excellent IT skills with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and databases is expected. Applicants are required to have a proactive approach, ability to think creatively, work independently and also effectively as part of a team. Self-motivation and strong commitment to service excellence is required with the ability to inspire individuals to develop within their volunteer role.
