Hi Mary! How would you describe yourself in three words?⁠
"Friendly, empathetic, ordinary."⁠

What is it you do as a volunteer for Age UK Mid Mersey?⁠
"I come and help set up the dementia friendly coffee and chat. I help make teas and coffees. We play bingo, have a chat, and provide a listening ear. We make it a nice couple of hours for them, some normal conversation."⁠

How did you get into it?⁠
"I just went online, looked on a volunteer’s website and decided to volunteer."⁠

What made you want to volunteer?⁠
"My auntie had dementia so it’s nice to be able to give something back. So that’s why I chose Age UK Mid Mersey."⁠

How long have you been volunteering with us?⁠
"Since February 2022."⁠
⁠
What is it you like about it?⁠
"I like the people and the staff."⁠
⁠
What would you say to someone wanting to become a volunteer?⁠
"Go for it, you’ve got nothing to lose and a lot to gain!"⁠
