We no longer offer visitor befriending services. However, if you are feeling isolated please feel free to make use of our telephone befriending service and/or join one of our social groups.
Telephone Befriending Service
Age UK is partnered with The Silver Line to provide a telephone befriending service (Call in Time) that's available throughout England.
Our telephone befriending service offers support and companionship to people aged 60+ who are socially isolated and in need of friendship. The purpose of the weekly calls are to have a friendly, light-hearted chat to help you feel less isolated.
Upon being signed up for this service, you will be matched with a volunteer and receive weekly phone calls lasting about half an hour. Calls are free to recipients and are delivered Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Contact us for more details.
