Our People
Our people are our greatest asset and we value everyone's dedication and enthusiasm to our work. From an 80 year volunteer who has been visiting isolated people for over 20 years, to the younger members of staff who bring new skills and ideas to the team. As an organisation, we are committed to supporting all of our people whether they are current staff members, volunteers or looking to join our organisation.
How we are funded
We rely on your support to keep serving the community. We are supported by donations from the public, support from local businesses, health and social care contracts, and some charitable grants.
What we do
-
We give advice
Our trained advisors offer free information and advice to older people and their families.
-
We befriend
Our volunteer befrienders visit lonely older people in the community who have no one to talk to.
-
We offer telephone support
Similar to our Visiting Services, this service is designed to provide friendship to lonely and isolation older people in the city but instead of visiting at home, conversations take place over the telephone.
We accept self-referrals or referrals from family members or health care professionals for help.
-
We provide activities
Our centres have a wide range of activity groups and events, such as lunch clubs and exercise classes, giving older people the opportunity to keep fit, socialise, or learn a new skill.
Meet our people
-
