"My son gave me a Samsung tablet for my birthday and it stayed in its box for a couple of months as I was too frightened to use it. I heard about the computer club and gave it a go. You should have seen the look on my son's face a month later when I was talking to him about setting up a skype account. Thanks to all the staff." David - Northam
No matter what your level of experience our computer club volunteers can help you to do what you want to do. Come along and see for yourself.
Our Computer Club is based at:
- Challis Court on Mondays (10am-12noon and 1pm-3pm)
- Freemantle & Shirley Community Centre on Fridays (1pm-3pm)*
For a small suggested donation of £3, our volunteers will help you with a whole range of IT-related issues that you might have.
*This activity is supported by Southampton City Council’s Caring Communities grant
What we can help with:
There's no need to book - just drop in for some help and a cup of tea.
Challis Court is accessible from King Street in the City Centre, SO14 3DQ via the FirstCity Red #11 Weston bus (Oxford Street), or there's street parking available outside.
Freemantle & Shirley Community Centre is off Grove Road, off Shirley High Street SO15 3HE via the Bluestar bus #4 from the city centre, or there's car parking available outside.
We recommend that you bring your own device or laptop with you so that the volunteers can see the specific issue you're having.
Please note this service is not an IT class to learn about a specific subject and is instead a drop in session to support you with your own understanding or with specific IT difficulties you are facing.
