Vivienne Westwood volunteering day

A huge thank you to the Vivienne Westwood staff who volunteered at Age UK Wandsworth Gwynneth Morgan Day Centre in September. Together with our staff and clients, they created DIY paper crowns, inspirational and activist placards, and a striking punk collage. The day was filled with collaboration, creativity, and connection, making it a truly memorable experience for everyone involved. The photo above shows Age UK Wandsworth staff Tabea and Viktorjia (left to right) who coordinated the making of the collage, with the team of volunteers from Vivienne Westwood.

Their visit brought a signature touch of punk spirit to our Day Centre — making it a day to remember. Using leather, pipe cleaners, glitter, chains, and studs, the group created a unique artwork that perfectly captured the essence of self-expression and rebellion that are hallmarks of Vivienne Westwood’s creative legacy.

Before they left, our punk collage was christened ‘Wes’ by the Vivienne Westwood team taking the name from the first three letters of their founders’ surname.

Beyond the art-making, the day was about connection and collaboration. Clients and volunteers shared stories, laughter, and ideas. The Vivienne Westwood team’s enthusiasm and warmth helped make the day a lot of fun. And in the afternoon while some of the Vivienne Westwood team worked hard to finish the collage, their colleagues treated our clients to a karaoke session, ‘Raining Men’ being a favourite.

This Corporate Volunteering Day was a reminder of how creativity can bring people together, spark joy, and make a real difference. We are so grateful to Vivienne Westwood for their time, passion, and commitment — and we can’t wait to welcome them back for more days of creativity and connection!
