A unique opportunity to train as a Mental Health Instructor

This accredited training is being delivered by Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA England); normally delivered in London at a cost of £2790, we can offer you a fully subsidised place on a course in Bath!

Time commitment and course detail

The Instructor Training programme takes place over seven days, each day runs from 9.00am to 5.00pm and the course is usually spread out over six weeks. This allows learners to become familiar with the material and reflect on their learning, the course structure and time frames cannot be amended or changed. The days are organised as follows:
Days 1-2:
Experience the MHFA Two Day course, as delivered by MHFA England's highly experienced national trainers.
Day 3
Hear from a variety of speakers from a mental health related background. These sessions could include discussions with people who have experienced mental health issues, a carer of someone with mental health issues, or someone from a medical background.
Days 4-5
Learners deliver a session on a relevant topic followed by peer-to-peer feedback and a one-to-one feedback session with their mentor.
Days 6-7:
Learners deliver a section of the MHFA Two Day course, are assessed on their delivery and have another one-to-one session with their mentor.
Learners are expected to do approximately 20 hours of their own study outside of the seven days, including time spent on preparing delivery materials for days 4-5 and 6-7. They will have one year of one-to-one support from their mentor while they get up and running as an MHFA England instructor.
