Age UK Barnsley say thank you to longest serving staff member

Age UK Barnsley today (7^th November) held a celebration for their longest serving staff member Diane Beardshall, who has been with the charity for 28 years and manages the Elizabeth Activity and Care Centre on Queens Road.

Diane first joined the charity when it was known as Age Concern Barnsley in November 1995, and was initially employed as a Care Assistant before undertaking a variety of roles within Day Services.

For the last four years she has been the Day Services Manager and this year oversaw the extensive refurbishment of the Day Centre into the fabulous Elizabeth Activity and Care Centre.

Diane is also a fully-qualified Dementia Trainer and provides training sessions on dementia awareness for staff and volunteers.
