Age UK Barnsley to launch ‘Dementia Support Thursdays’ at Elizabeth Centre
Published on 31 October 2023 10:12 AM
Age UK Barnsley are delighted to announce the launch of a new specialist support day at our Elizabeth Activity & Care Centre, aimed at people living with dementia and their carers. Dementia Support Thursdays will start on Thursday 23rd November and run on a weekly basis.
At our newly-refurbished Elizabeth Activity & Care Centre, our specialist team of caring staff provide a friendly and stimulating environment for people living with dementia, and an opportunity for respite for carers.
We’ll be providing a day packed with stimulating activities; singing with our Musical Memories Choir, Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST), and much more besides...
Commenting, Age UK Barnsley Chief Executive Debby Bunn said:
“Whatever stage you or your loved one is at in the dementia journey, we recognise that a little extra support can make a huge difference.
