Could you help a local family go to the ball?

Published on 12 April 2023 11:20 AM

With party and prom season fast approaching, Age UK Barnsley are looking for donations of prom, party, ball or wedding outfits for sale through our three charity shops.

With local families facing a cost-of-living crisis, we want to do what we can to make that special outfit a little more affordable for those in need – with all proceeds helping to support our work on behalf of older people in Barnsley.

Commenting, Age UK Barnsley CEO Debby Bunn said:

“We know how tough it is for Barnsley families at the minute, and parties and school proms can add to budgets that are already stretched.

“We want to do everything possible to help, so if you have any unwanted party outfits that could go to a good home – why not consider donating to Age UK Barnsley?

“We are accepting drop-offs at our Queens Road offices and our three shops at Eldon Street, Cudworth and Wombwell and all proceeds will support our work providing services for older people in Barnsley.”
