Donations and grants make all the difference

Woman turning up thermostatAlthough it seems like the hot weather has been with us forever, and that jumpers and coats are a thing of the past, winter is only a few months away.

As we get older our bodies respond differently to the cold, which can lead to serious health problems. The ever-increasing cost of heating our homes can also be a great source of worry. So we were incredibly grateful to be awarded a Surviving Winter grant of £2,000  by the Quartet Community Foundation. The money will be put towards increasing the Information and Advice provided to help older people stay warm and less isolated this winter.

We are also very grateful to Keynham Town Council for its £500 grant and the £1,000 we received from the organisers of the Bath Half Marathon Fund towards setting up a walking group for older people who live
in Batheaston.

We welcome all donations and all the money raised is spent right here in Bath and North East Somerset. If you can help, visit   www.ageuk.org.uk/bathandnortheastsomerset/get-involved/donate/
