Free Health & Safety Checks Available Throughout the Day


Take advantage of our on-site checks designed to support your health, safety, and independence.
 Friendly professionals will be offering hearing checks, blood pressure checks, and mobility aid checks throughout the day.
It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, gain peace of mind, and make sure your equipment is working safely and comfortably for you, no appointments needed.

Hearing checks
Stop by for a free hearing check and a chat with The Bexley Deaf centre. It’s a quick and easy way to see how your hearing is doing, ask questions, and learn about simple steps to support good hearing health.
Mobility aid checks with Home Links
Bring along your walking stick, frame, rollator, or other mobility aid for a quick check by a physiotherapist from Home links. They’ll make sure your aid is the right height, in good condition, and safe for everyday use. You can also get tips on using your aid comfortably and confidently, helping to reduce strain and lower the risk of falls.
 
Blood Pressure Checks
Stop by for a quick check of your blood pressure and see how your heart is doing. Our friendly pharmacists will give advice, answer questions, and help you take steps to stay healthy and active.

11am - Keeping Your Home Safe from Falls
Join this short, practical session to learn simple ways to reduce fall risks at home. Discover common household hazards and easy safety improvements that can help you stay confident and independent.
11.20am – How to check if you’re at risk of a fall
Fitness MOT assessors talk about what a Fitness MOT is and how it helps you spot signs that you might be at risk of a fall. Take a quick “Fitness MOT” to check your balance and mobility.
11.45am – Free 15 minute chair based exercise taster session
 
12pm – Free refreshments available in the Rooted café for the first 40 participants
 
12.30pm – Medishare pharmacists talk about how blood pressure and dehydration affect falls
Learn how changes in blood pressure and dehydration can increase your risk of falling.
 
1pm – Ageing well talk with Physiotherapist Jo Ward
Join Home links physiotherapist Jo Ward for a short, practical session exploring how the body changes with age and why these changes can increase the risk of falls. Jo will offer a FIT MOVE taster session with simple exercises you can do at home to strengthen muscles and improve balance to prevent falls in later life.
1.45pm – Line Dancing session with Ellie
Let’s end the day with some music and a beginner-friendly line dancing session with Ellie from Fitness with Friends.  No experience is needed—but feel free to bring your cowboy hat if you have one! Yeehaw!
