Volunteer role: PIC Admin and Client feedback Volunteer
Service: PIC Service
Supported by: PIC Service Manager / Team Manager
Location: 81 Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 7JH
Days / hours Up to half a day per week - (Days / times are flexible between Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm)
Training: Full training and ongoing support are provided
Travel expenses: We will reimburse any out-of-pocket expenses
An overview of the Personal Independence Coordinator (PIC) service
Our PIC service provides critical links between health and social care services and wider community support networks, helping people feel more in control of their own health and wellbeing.
Our PICs work with clients for a defined amount of time in a person-centred way to help identify what is important to them and to set goals to improve their health, wellbeing, and independence.
What will I be doing?
As a PIC Admin and Client Feedback Volunteer, you will be contributing your skills to support the smooth functioning of our administrative operations. This could include, but is not limited to,
- Calling our PIC Clients at the end of their engagement to receive feedback on the service and completing a ‘friends and family feedback form’.
- Calling former PIC Clients to find out the outcome of their Attendance Allowance application and arranging a new benefits check where needed
- Keeping resources up to date and ensuring we are complying with our data retention policy.
- Inputting information onto our database Charity Log.
This role is office-based with a mixture inputting information onto Charity Log and speaking to Clients. You would need to comfortable working on a computer and be willing to receive further training.

- Computer literate
- Empathetic and patient.
- A desire to help people.
- Patient and non-judgemental.
- The ability to treat your work confidentially as you will be dealing with confidential and sensitive client information.
- Attention to detail.
- Good people skills and telephone manner.
- A willingness to learn through training and supervision.
You will have the ability to maintain professional boundaries and adhere to Age UK Croydon’s policies and procedures, including Confidentiality and Safeguarding. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
