Volunteer role: Tai Chi Exercise Class Volunteer
Service: Activities
Training: Full training and ongoing support are provided.
Travel expenses: Age UK Croydon reimburses out-of-pocket expenses.
Locations and day/times available:
- Every Thursday, Scratchley Hall, 81 Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 7JH, (arrival for session: 2.45pm to help set up - class runs from 3.15pm-4.45pm)
The role:
To support the Tai Chi Exercise Class. To engage and interact with Clients.
What will I be doing?
- Engaging with Clients
- Meeting and greeting group members at the door, signing them in, making them feel welcome.
- Helping set up before and clear away after the café sessions, including, signage, tables, chairs.
- Serving refreshments.
- Escorting new group members in and introducing them to others.
- Helping to organise an information table with leaflets, booklets, and other useful resources for group members.
Personal qualities and experiences:
- Patience and caring attitude.
- Ability to empathise.
- Willingness to learn.
- Being able to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team with staff and other volunteers.
- Understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection.
