Gangsta Granny showBuxton Opera House invited us to do a street collection after each performance of ‘Gangsta Granny’ over Easter.

A team of volunteers including staff, former staff, trustees (and their spouses and children) collected at most of the performances. The people in the audiences were very generous donating approx £2750 in total. This was helped by the collection being announced on stage with the actors telling the audience to "fold their notes ready so they fit in the buckets!"

Collecting at the theatreWe would like to thank:

  • the team at Buxton Opera House for inviting us;
  • the cast and crew for their support
  • every member of the each performance who generously donated money which will help local older people love later life

This very popular book by David Walliams has been brought to the theatre for a nationwide tour and performances in Buxton over Easter were very popular. The audiences seem to really enjoy themselvces in the show.
