The cost of living crisis is affecting us all in different ways. Many older people in Gloucestershire are facing financial worries, especially as we approach the colder winter months. At Age UK Gloucestershire one of our priorities is to ensure people are claiming and financial support they are entitled to. Every year financial aid goes unclaimed, often by those who need it most.

Attendance Allowance in particular provides financial help to people who need extra support at home. The funds given enable older people to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes, for as long as possible. Receiving this money can make a huge difference, reducing physical pressures and financial at the same time.

Our volunteers have helped X people with their applications this X. The support and guidance of volunteers can mean the difference between a successful application and an unsuccessful one. The forms are fairly long and do require people to share personal details, having someone alongside you whilst going through this can help to make sure all the details are recorded to give the best representation of someone’s personal situation.
