Volunteers week 2021!

Published on 01 June 2021 05:00 AM

Volunteers week runs from 1st-7th June this year and here at Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire, we want to take this opportunity to say a BIG thank you to all of our volunteers who have supported us over the past year.

We know the past year has been incredibly challenging for many people which is why we want to take some time to recognise the hard work our volunteers have supported us with during a really tough time.

Our volunteers have been supporting clients through several of our services including; independence at home; benefits and advice; looking after our allotment; our Companion Line and much more.

Take a look at some of our volunteers in action below, including the doorstep coffee break some of our Companion Line volunteers enjoyed in Ross-on-Wye!

This time last year we had 103 volunteers, then in September 2020 we launched our Companion Line service which increased our volunteers to over 170! We are so pleased that so many people have come on board to support with our Companion Line service, but we need more! We have a waiting list of clients so we need more volunteers to come on board and support this service.

Thank you again to our amazing volunteers for all their hard work and support throughout the past year.
