Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable Secures Funding for Men’s Shed Project

Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable is delighted to announce that its Men’s Shed project has been awarded funding for the Shed Quarters initiative by People for Places.

This funding will safeguard the Men’s Shed for the next twelve months, ensuring that members, volunteers, and the wider community can continue to benefit from this vital initiative. The Men’s Shed provides a safe and welcoming environment for men to share skills, build friendships, and contribute to local projects.

The grant will enable the Men’s Shed to maintain its regular programme of activities and continue offering an important community space where wellbeing, companionship, and purpose are fostered.

People for Places works across its business to build and support thriving communities. Through its charitable arm, the Places Foundation Group, it provides independent grants and social investment to organisations making a positive impact at a local level.

The Men’s Shed currently operates at the following times:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 10.00am – 1.00pm
  • Thursdays: 10.00am – 2.30pm

New members are always welcome, and those interested are encouraged to book a visit to see the Shed in action.
