‘Iattend monthly Dementia Drop-in Clinics in Herne Bay and Whitstable to give
Pro-bono legal advice to those in need. The Dementia Drop in Clinics allow those
living with dementia, their carers or families to access information, advice and
support at no charge and with no referral. We can assess if they actually need any assistance and people often use me as a
sounding board.’

What are the benefits of partnering with Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable?

‘Those people we meet in the clinics like our approach and often then want to see us for any follow up work needed, we’ve also gained the trust of the charity as an organisation who treat people fairly.

Personally, me donating my time which has a value to the charity and its beneficiaries, feels good. Girlings has a strong Corporate Social Responsibility ethos and our involvement with Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable demonstrates this.  As they are a local charity we see and feel the benefit for those who are being supported.

Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable use our logo on promotional flyers for the service and I’m also able to network with other agencies which can only help our business.’

As well as the benefits to those receiving advice from Charlotte, there are also benefits to their business.

How can we get involved?

There are a number of ways your organisation can partner with us.

Sponsor one of our events

A straightforward way to help us is to give financial support for events we are
organising as that means more of the proceeds raised goes to the people we help. In
return we can name you as a sponsor and put your name on the marketing material
and across our social media channels. You can feature your contribution on your
social media channels, too.

Employees volunteering

Could you send a team to help out at an event or activity? It's a great way for staff to bond by working together to help vulnerable older people. Previous staff teams have served Christmas lunches, taken older people on days out, painted our day centre, and revamped our garden.
