What kind of gift in my Will?

There are 3 types of gifts you can leave:

  • Residuary - a share of your estate after family and friends have been taken care of and taxes and debts have been paid.
  • Pecuniary - a fixed sum of money
  • Specific - an item, eg a painting, or stocks and shares, or a gift of property
