We are delighted to announce that Age UK Lewisham and Southwark's Stones End Day Centre has been awarded the Building Sustainable Communities Award at the 2016 Sustainable City Awards.

At a prestigious ceremony at Mansion House on March 3rd hosted by Alderman Dame Fiona Woolf DBE and Samantha Heath, CEO of LSx, Age UK Lewisham and Southwark was awarded with the Building Sustainable Communities Award at the City of London's 2016 Sustainable City Awards for its Stones End Day Centre.

This year, the awards were organised by the London Sustainability Exchange. Nicknamed the "Green Oscars", the event leads the way in terms of recognition of great, sustainable projects not only in London, but across the whole of the UK.

The Building Sustainable Communities Award is awarded to voluntary organisations whose work makes a tangible difference to the sustainability of their local area by bringing people together, especially across different communities. We are delighted by this recognition of the hard work of our outgoing centre manager Chris, and that of all of the staff and volunteers of our Stones End Day Centre.
