Age UK Lincolnshire Launch

On Friday 18th July, we proudly celebrated the launch of our next chapter, officially becoming Age UK Lincolnshire.
Over 130 guests joined us for the occasion, including our dedicated staff and volunteers, NHS colleagues, healthcare partners, local businesses, and a wide range of valued stakeholders. We are so grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the event a memorable milestone in our journey.
The afternoon began with a powerful speech from Carol Liggins, Chair of Trustees, who reflected on the history of our organisation - from its early beginnings to the progress we've made over the years. Her words honoured the legacy of our organisation while recognising the significance of this new chapter.
This was followed by an inspiring address from Michele Jolly, CEO of Age UK Lincolnshire, who looked to the future. Michele outlined our vision for continued growth, the importance of partnership working, and our ongoing commitment to supporting older people across our region. She emphasised how collaborative working will be key to our future success, including our strong and valued relationship with Age UK North East Lincolnshire, with whom we continue to work closely as part of the wider Age UK network.
The event featured a marketplace-style setup in the hall, where stalls showcased the wide range of services we offer, from information and advice to befriending, activities, home support and more. This gave guests the opportunity to learn more about what we do, meet our teams and see the breadth of support we provide in action.
We were delighted to serve delicious hors d'oeuvres, kindly prepared by our amazing kitchen team and served by our fantastic volunteers, alongside drinks provided by Lincoln FFN (Feucht Fröhliche Neustadter). We are hugely grateful to both for generously giving their time and service to help us celebrate.
We’d also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to:
-
Home Nightclub, for the generous loan of tables to help bring our venue to life
-
Robert Morley, for providing the staging used throughout the event
-
Laura Mackie, for supplying the PA system and providing vital tech support on the day
The event was a true celebration of who we are, where we’ve come from, and what’s still to come. We are so proud to be Age UK Lincolnshire and excited for the journey ahead; together, we can continue to change how we age.
