Stakeholder Update

Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire. As you will have seen recently, Age UK Lindsey has faced severe financial challenges due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the ongoing cost of living crisis and the national insurance and minimum wage increases.
Sadly, the combination of these factors meant the Board of Trustees had to make the difficult decision to cease operating on Friday 2nd May 2025.
We understand that this news may be distressing, especially for the older people who have been supported in the community. At Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire, our top priority remains the wellbeing of older people in the area. We are actively exploring the best ways to ensure they continue to receive the support they need.
Over the years, we’ve worked in partnership with Age UK Lindsey to deliver the Help in the Home service — a dedicated service that offers people aged 50 and over a wide range of domestic support designed to help them maintain their independence and continue living comfortably in their own homes. It is available across the council districts of East Lindsey and West Lindsey.
Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire’s hospital discharge service, which provides a variety of support so older people can be discharged from hospital quickly and safely back into their own home, also covers the Lindsey area.
Services currently delivered by Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire in East Lindsey, West Lindsey, and North Lincolnshire are unaffected by the closure and will continue as normal. In addition, Age UK is working closely with us to maintain — and where possible, enhance — the support available to older people in these areas. A number of the Age UK Lindsey charity shops will also transfer to Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire, ensuring they remain a valuable resource at the heart of their local communities.
Our commitment to older people remains unwavering and with your ongoing support, we will continue to adapt and grow to meet future needs.
We will continue to provide further updates as services develop but if you have any questions in the meantime, or would like to discuss these changes further, please don’t hesitate to contact Michele Jolly on Michele.Jolly@ageuklsl.org.uk or call 03455 564 144.
