Volunteers' stories

Why volunteer?

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, and give back to your local community. Without the support of our committed volunteers we wouldn't be able to offer the number of services that we do.

Our current volunteers often comment on how rewarding they find volunteering with us, and how beneficial it's been to their own wellbeing.

Who can volunteer?

Almost anyone can become a volunteer. We have a wide range of roles which suit different people and different skills.

However, our volunteers must:

  • be sympathetic to the needs of peopled aged 50+

  • respect the dignity of people aged 50+

  • be friendly and supportive

  • respect confidentiality

How much time do I need to give?

Commitment time is flexible depending on which role you want to get involved with. Some require weekly regular commitment, others are less frequent.

What can we offer you?

  • initial and on-going training

  • regular support and supervision

  • a chance to meet new people and learn new skills

  • involvement in the support of people aged 50+
