Age UK Norfolk Launches £100 Winter Household Support Payment

Published on 04 September 2025 10:40 AM

Local charity Age UK Norfolk is offering a one-off £100 payment to households across Norfolk experiencing financial hardship, as part of its commitment to supporting older residents during challenging times.

The scheme is open to households where at least one member is aged 50 or over. The payment is designed to provide immediate financial relief and is administered independently from other local and national support schemes.

In addition to the payment, Age UK Norfolk will use this opportunity to provide advice and guidance on welfare benefits. Households can receive a benefit check to ensure they are accessing all the support to which they are entitled.

“We know that many older residents are facing increasing pressures this winter,” said Emma Harkness, Head of Information and Advice at Age UK Norfolk.

“This one-off payment is designed to help ease immediate financial stress, while also opening up a wider conversation about ongoing support, benefits, and household money management.”

As part of the scheme, Age UK Norfolk will also provide referrals to other internal and external services as needed, including help with budgeting, money management, and additional welfare support.
