Age UK North Tyneside is proud to share the incredible achievement of our Group Chief Executive being awarded an OBE for her services to older people.
This milestone signifies the essential work that Dawn has been spearheading across North Tyneside and beyond, acting as a voice for older people and engaging others for the changes needed in order for them to live well.
Dawn received this achievement in the year that North Tyneside received its Age Friendly Status. Age UK North Tyneside partnered with Healthwatch North Tyneside to conduct a consultation engagement piece that has brought focus, attention, and change to the areas that matter to older people. The feedback and actions reported from this have driven the changes in North Tyneside to allow the borough to be proudly part of the Age Friendly Communities Network.
Dawn McNally OBE said, “I am deeply honoured to receive this OBE. This recognition is not just for me, but for the incredible team, partners and older people who inspire the work we do every day across North Tyneside.
Older people deserve to feel valued, connected, and supported in the communities they helped to build. I am proud to lead an organisation that champions their voices, celebrates their contributions, and works to ensure they can live well, with dignity and independence.
This honour strengthens my commitment to continue driving change so that every older person in North Tyneside can enjoy later life to the fullest.”
Age UK North Tyneside takes this achievement into 2026 as we continue our 2030 strategy, implementing more change for the older people in North Tyneside. Read more on Age UK North Tyneside’s 2030 strategy here to see how you can get involved in supporting our vision.
