Charity giving will be twice as nice with the Big Give

Local charity, Age UK Rotherham is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge between 2 and 9 December. The aim is to raise £6,666 in just one week and this will be doubled to give an amazing £13,332 to help older people in Rotherham. The scheme relies on a sponsor pledging to match donations received during the Big Give week and Sitwell Park Golf Club have stepped up to the tee with a generous pledge of £3,333. Golf club captain, Paul Kettleborough has chosen Age UK Rotherham as his charity of the year. Paul was delighted at the opportunity to pledge the match funding, which will help to deliver a program of support to older people this winter. The remaining £3,333 of match funding has been promised by engineering company AES Engineering Ltd, who are taking part in the scheme as our Champion funder.

Age UK Rotherham are appealing for donations from the public, supporters and the business community during the Big Give week. Every donation will be generously matched, meaning the charity can make double the difference to older people in Rotherham. The target of £6,666 will be doubled using the match funding promised from Sitwell Park Gold Club and AES Engineering Ltd.

Winter can be the most dreaded time of the year for older people due to adverse weather conditions leaving them isolated and unsupported. Age UK Rotherham aims to deliver a programme tailored to older people's needs to help them survive and thrive the winter, keeping them in good health and creating a sense of positive wellbeing.
