Dave is a retired University Lecturer in Computer Science. His professional interests were mainly in computer security and IT governance, but he enjoys a bit of coding and messing about with electronics. Dave has extensive experience working as a trade union caseworker and has been involved in most internal employment processes on both sides of the table. Dave has a history of volunteering, one way or another, spanning over thirty years, and has been associated with Age UK Teesside a number of times in that period. He has also volunteered in politics, education, criminal justice, and housing, and continues to be involved in a number of local organisations. Dave would consider his strengths to be in problem solving, risk management / audit, and generally being good with people. Dave says “Things are hard for many businesses at present, and this is doubly true for businesses in the charitable sector. We will remain successful by continuing to focus on our fantastic people and supporting them to deliver services required by older people, whilst maintaining the sound financial management needed”.

Hello, my name is Maureen and I am delighted to be joining the board of Teesside Age UK in the role of Trustee.I am now retired but as a registered social worker spent most of my working life in a variety of roles with different local authorities in the area moving from frontline practice to more managerial roles although always keeping a focus on the vulnerable children and their families for whom we provided services.Being retired has provided more time to spend with family and friends which is important to me but I still want to remain involved in what is happening in my community and the role of Trustee provides a great opportunity to fulfil this wish.I am a keen horse woman which keeps me active as well as walking the dog! More gentle pastimes involve cooking, reading and knitting.
