Age UK Torbay works with older people in Brixham, Paignton and Torquay listening to their views and campaigning for change on their behalf.

We seek to give older people in Torbay a voice in decisions affecting their lives, and to win recognition for their contribution to the local community.

Age UK Torbay links with Age UK to promote national campaigns on a range of key issues, ensuring that policies are put in place that meet the needs of older people and help provide them with choice. We also want to take steps now to create a better deal for future generations.

Working with other organisations

Age UK Torbay also works closely with local agencies such as Torbay Council and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust to ensure that the needs and aspirations of older people in Torbay are fully taken account of in the provision, planning and development of health and social care services locally.

We also work closely with other volunteering organisations locally on issues affecting older people, and issues affecting the Voluntary and Community Sector as a whole.

Age UK Torbay also regularly takes up relevant issues affecting older people with Torbay’s two MPs; Anthony Mangnall and Kevin Foster, and regularly uses the media to ‘speak-out’ on concerns older people have locally.

If you would like to get involved in Age UK Torbay's campaigns locally, or have a concern or issue you would like us to take up please contact us on 01803 555 181 or email us.
