What do office support volunteers do?

You will work in our offices as part of our Business Support team. Volunteers work with our team to deliver the wide range of administration tasks that ensure the continued operation of our offices and the services that we provide. There are a mix of regular and ad-hoc tasks but typically you will be involved in updating databases, creating documents, helping with electronic filing or undertaking research.

Other tasks are wide and varied and will include:

  • Dealing with the incoming and outgoing post
  • Responding to requests from our service teams
  • Ordering stationery and other items that our services need
  • Maintaining stocks of information guides, leaflets and forms
  • Collation and distribution of office resources to our remote teams and clients
  • Inputting data onto our computer system
  • Speaking to clients to complete satisfaction surveys
  • Bank any cheques or cash that we receive
  • Attend team meetings,1:1 supervisions and complete additional training as required.

We also have opportunities for you to specialise in a specific role. Please let us know if you are interested in any of these areas:

  • Updating our website
  • Helping with IT related matters
  • Helping with our social media
  • Provide administrative help with the recruitment an onboarding of staff and volunteers.

All our roles provide you with the opportunity to either develop new skills that will enhance your CV or utilise existing skills that will help our charity to grow.

Where is this role available?

Our main office is in Devizes, we also have offices in Salisbury and Swindon. Some tasks can be undertaken from home. 

When can I do this?

Mon - Fri

What time commitment is expected?

Ideally at least half a day a week, though our workload can vary so this much time may not always be required.

What are the practical considerations?

You will need to be over 18
