Could you do 50 steps for the 50 plus?

Age UK Barnsley are delighted to announce that, running alongside this Saturday’s 50km for the 50 plus we are also running sessions in our Eldon Street Charity Shop using a stepping machine for those who want to take part in the day’s activities at a gentler pace.

The stepper will be available throughout the day in the Eldon Street Shop and those who want to participate can do so in exactly the same way as participants in the main walk – by getting a paper sponsorship form or donating to our GoFundMe campaign.

Commenting, Age UK Barnsley Chief Executive Debby Bunn said: “We want to ensure that anyone who wants to can get involved in 50km for the 50 plus, which is why we are also offering the chance to do 50 steps for those who might be less mobile.

“Doing the 50 steps is just one of the ways you can get involved on the day – we want to make this an accessible and enjoyable event for everyone; having good fun whilst at the same time raising vital funds for Age UK Barnsley.

“Every penny raised by us goes towards delivering our mission of making Barnsley the best possible place to grow older.”
