Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees offer befriending services at home and over the phone.

Befriender and client at home smiling

We offer a befriending service in Calderdale for any older person who feels lonely or isolated and try to support them to lead a more fullfilling life.

Following a visit by our client liaison team and a discussion about how we can help, a Volunteer Befriender is introduced to provide face-to-face friendship and support in the home.

  • Request a befriender

If you feel lonely or isolated, you can ask about the befriending service yourself or ask someone to contact us on your behalf and a staff member will be in contact.

Please give us a call us on 01422 252 040 or drop us an email at enquiry@ageukck.org.uk

  • Volunteer as a befriender

If you are interested in volunteering as a befriender, we would love to hear from you too! Email us at enquiry@ageukck.org.uk or call us on 01422 252 040. Alternatively you can download our Volunteer Application Pack.
