Services and volunteering

Please note: Our Halifax and Huddersfield mobility shops are currently closed. At this challenging time, we are trying our best to keep our essential services running, and are making every effort to ensure that we continue to support older people who are currently in isolation as a preventative measure against COVID-19. We support and value local communities pulling together and offering help when it is most needed, and we continue to provide a high-quality level of volunteering with all our fully vetted volunteers. We would ask that anyone interested in becoming a volunteer at this time requests an application form from our Halifax office via telephone on 01422 252 040. Due to GDPR law we are unable to share the personal information of those who are isolated and will continue to provide befriending via telephone and essential shopping services where possible. If you know someone older who is feeling isolated and alone or you are an older person feeling isolated please call our befriending line on 01422 252 040. If you would like to support Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees we rely heavily on funding and fundraising to keep our services running especially at times like these when they are in greater demand.  A donation of £10 could help answer 2 calls on our Advice Line. £25 could support our vital research projects that help shape services for older people. £50 could cover the cost of weekly friendship calls to a lonely older person. Please follow the link to our JustGiving page to donate. Where we have started a Coronavirus Emergency Appeal to support our services. www.justgiving.com/campaign/coronavirusageukcalderdaleandkirklees or alternatively our general JustGiving page. https://www.justgiving.com/ageukcalderdale-kirklees. Please use our services if needed as we can help in a crisis like this.
