Day Care Officer – Day Care Centres
Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit 5 Day Care Officers across our two Day Care Centres.
We currently have several opportunities available:
Role 1: Day Care Officer (Permanent, Part-Time, Kings Cross)
- Hours: part-time, 15 hours per week (3 x 5-hour shifts) on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Location: primarily based at Kings Cross site
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: £10,803.94 per annum (pro-rata based on SCP 4 £25,209.19 incl. London Weighting)
Roles 2 & 3: Day Care Officer (Permanent, Part-Time, Kings Cross)
- Hours: part-time, 25 hours per week (5 x 5-hour shifts), Monday-Friday
- Location: primarily based at Kings Cross site
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: £18,006.56 per annum (pro-rata based on SCP 4 £25,209.19 incl. London Weighting)
Role 4: Day Care Officer (Permanent, Part-Time, Hampstead)
- Hours: part-time, 25 hours per week (5 x 5-hour shifts), Monday-Friday
- Location: primarily based at Hampstead site
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: £18,006.56 per annum (pro-rata based on SCP 4 £25,209.19 incl. London Weighting)
Role 5: Day Care Officer (Maternity Cover, Fixed-Term, Hampstead)
- Hours: part-time, 25 hours per week (5 x 5-hour shifts)
- Location: primarily based at Hampstead site
- Contract: Fixed-term for 39 weeks starting 1st September 2025
- Salary: £18,006.56 per annum (pro-rata based on SCP 4 £25,209.19 incl. London Weighting)
Our Day Care Centres – Great Croft in Kings Cross and Henderson Court in Hampstead – offer a vibrant, supportive environment for older people with complex needs, including people living with dementia. We provide:

What you will do:
- Lead and support group activities such as arts and crafts, music, quizzes, reminiscence sessions, and gentle chair-based exercise
- Assist with personal care, including helping clients with mobility, toileting, and eating
- Support clients with dementia, using person-centred approaches to reduce anxiety and encourage participation
- Help with daily operations, including setting up activity spaces, serving meals, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment
- Act as a key worker for individual clients to build trusting relationships, monitor wellbeing, and liaise with families and professionals
- Contribute to care planning and record-keeping

(Staff can be required to work across both centres, so the ability to travel to both Kings Cross and Hampstead is essential.)
