"It's nice to speak to someone that you like. It helps to get me through the week. I might go all day without talking to someone. It makes me feel better. After the call I think about it for the rest of the day." - Camden Resident
Lockdown has been hard on all of us, especially for older people.
At Age UK Camden, we saw a surge in demand for our services and supported more than 16,000 older people during the pandemic. Our Telefriends service was also created one year ago in April 2020, which we opened in response to the phenomenal demand for over-the-phone support and companionship.
Yet we know that this crisis isn't over. Despite the lifting of lockdown and vaccinations, many people have lost confidence and resilience and continue to live in fear.
Through our Telefriends and Good Neighbours scheme, we're offering company and support to older people in Camden who would otherwise have none.
But we can only do this with your help.
Donate to our Phone a Friend appeal today - every penny raised will fund our vital Telefriends and Good Neighbours services, helping us to support more older people in the Camden community who are struggling so much from the pandemic.

What did you miss doing the most during 2020? Was it hiking or playing football? Building sandcastles at the beach? Or perhaps you missed playing cards with friends?
The Captain Tom 100 challenge is the perfect way to get out and about safely as the lockdown eases, while raising money for Age UK Camden.
Everyone is invited to take on a challenge around the number 100 any time and anywhere over Captain Tom’s birthday weekend, starting on Friday 30 April through to Bank Holiday Monday 3 May.
