Charity Walk for Peace 2018

Published on 29 April 2018 11:00 PM

Age UK Croydon participated in the annual Charity Walk for Peace, held this year at Great Windsor Park and organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association. The walk took place on Sunday 29th April, and four members of Age UK Croydon braved the chilly weather, walking 5 miles to raise money which will be match-funded by the Ahmaddiyya Muslim Elders Association.

Taking part were (from left to right): Deborah McCluskey, chairman of our Board of Trustees; Jo Dunbar, Projects and Learning Officer; Laura James, Volunteer Programme Administrator; and June Pilgrim-Ndure, Development Service Manager. All were awarded a medal and a hot bowl of biryani for their efforts, and were proud to be part of such an inclusive event. Donations can be made via the link below.

The Ahmaddiyya Muslim Elders Association has been a huge supporter of Age UK Croydon, and we wanted to show our support to the organisation. The aim was to raise £1,000,000, with every penny being spent on charity and not administration. 4,000+ walkers took part on the day.
