About Age Cymru West Glamorgan

We are a local charity providing a range of services to our clients, families, and carers across Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, and Bridgend. Alongside our services, we attend and deliver a wide range of events, including digital engagement sessions, Information and Advice events, and community events we are invited to be part of.

Role Description: We are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to support Age Cymru West Glamorgan at a wide range of events. Volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming, supportive atmosphere and helping activities run smoothly on the day. Whether you’re welcoming people, offering practical support, or being a friendly face representing Age Cymru West Glamorgan, your contribution helps reduce loneliness, raise awareness of our services, and support people to age well. You don’t need specialist knowledge — just a positive attitude and a willingness to help.

Hours: Events vary in length and timing. You can choose which events you would like to support, and we will always provide details in advance.

Location:  Events take place across Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, and Bridgend. These may include community venues, partner organisations, libraries, or public spaces. Volunteers can sign up to events in locations that are convenient for them.

What will I do?

  • Be a welcoming, friendly face for people attending events.
  • Help create a relaxed and supportive environment.
  • Support staff with on-the-day tasks such as setting up, welcoming attendees, and packing away.

Represent Age Cymru West Glamorgan positively within the community.

You don’t need special qualifications. We’re looking for people who are:

  • Friendly, approachable, and supportive.
  • Reliable and willing to help out where needed
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Respectful, reliable, and mindful of confidentiality.

Please note this is a voluntary position. Age Cymru West Glamorgan will reimburse volunteers for out-of-pocket travel costs including public transport costs.
