Digital Champion Programme

Our one to one Digital Champion sessions are charged at £15 for a 1 hour visit, £25 for a 2 hour visit and £35 for a maximum 3 hour visit.

Please note, this service is not available outside Age UK Devon - Head Office's catchment area.

We offer one to one and group sessions with our Digital Champions who will tailor their support to your needs.

Could you benefit from exploring what the internet has to offer and learn new digital skills?

We understand for some older people using technology can be daunting. However, building your confidence and learning how to use technology can open many doors from a new way to communicate with family to accessing vital services that are increasingly ‘digital first’.

Our Digital Champions offer chargeable one to one sessions tailored to your needs.

They can show you how to:

- Use digital devices (smartphone, tablet, or laptop).
- How to set up online shopping and health service apps.
- Use a digital device to keep in touch with family, friends.
- How to stay safe online, protect your identity, data and personal information.
- How to identify scam emails and fake websites.
- Assistance with the installation and setup of household digital appliances.

Our Digital Champions will not repair devices or help with home maintenance job.

All Digital Champions are specially trained to provide digital support to older people and have undergone a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Check.

One-to-one sessions can take place in your home, in a community venue or at Age UK Devon’s office.

Digital Drop In sessions

We also run free digital drop-in sessions across Devon. During these sessions our Digital Champions are available to have an informal chat with anyone wanting to build their confidence and learn how to use technology.

Digital Champion Volunteers

We are currently looking to recruit more Digital Champion volunteers to support the launch of the programme. You don’t need to be a technology whizz just have confidence with basic technology use, enjoy being online, a love for meeting new people and a willingness to help others.
