The focus of our Ageing Well activities is on making social links and activities that promote mental and physical wellbeing, in line with the five ways to well-being principles. ‘Connect, Be Active, Keep Learning, Give, Take Notice’.

Our friendly and dedicated team work in partnership with other local experts and partners to offer a wide range of activities. We provide activities such as:

• Shared reading
• Sessions for people living with dementia
• Reminiscence
• Gardening
• Cooking and baking
• Dance on sessions
• Memory therapy (MCST)
• Arts and crafts
• Karaoke

We offer a variety of sessions throughout the week. Tuesdays are dedicated to people living with dementia.

 

Tuesday sessions: Young Friends Together

Our ‘Young Friends Together’ session is for people living with Young Onset Dementia (under 65 years old). These sessions are designed to promote independence as well as to offer respite to carers. The sessions offer range of activities including movement to music, cooking and baking, arts and crafts, gardening and much more! The session also includes a two course hot meal and refreshments throughout the day.

Who:This session is for people living with Young Onset Dementia, you must be referred through the Keep in Mind Service

When: Every Tuesday, from 9:30am - 3:30pm

Where: The Silver Link Centre, 85 Bennetthorpe, DN2 6AA

Cost: £3.50 for the full day or for a half day

Wednesday sessions: Friends That Natter

Our ‘Friends That Natter’ session is open to anyone looking to connect with their local community and to spend time with friends both old and new- a chance to have a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.

Who: This session is open to anyone

When: Every Wednesday, from 9:30am - 11:30am

Where: The Silver Link Centre, 85 Bennetthorpe, DN2 6AA

Cost: Suggested donation of 50p for a hot drink and 20p for a game of bingo

Friday Sessions: Friends Together

Our ‘Friends Together’ session is designed to promote independence and to support people to live and age well. These sessions offer a range of activities including movement to music, cooking and baking, arts and crafts, gardening and much more! The session also includes a two course hot meal and refreshments throughout the day.

Who: This session is for anyone 65+, with or without dementia

When: Every Friday, 9:30am - 3:30pm

Where: The Silver Link Centre, 85 Bennetthorpe, DN2 6AA

Cost: £60 for a full day, £30 for a half day in the morning or the afternoon including lunch
