Age UK East Grinstead & District is committed to being there for vulnerable older people. If you decide to leave a gift in your will to us, you will be supporting us to make life better for older people in East Grinstead and the local area.
Every single gift is vital to Age UK East Grinstead & District and we appreciate any gift you may choose to leave us. Whatever the value of your gift, it will go a long way in helping someone who needs support.
Leaving us a gift in your Will can be done in one of two ways:
- Some people feel they need to make sure their families and those near and dear to them are looked after first, before thinking about making a charitable gift of what remains. This is called a ‘residuary legacy’.
- Others choose to leave a specific sum of money, which is known as a ‘pecuniary legacy’.
Whichever you choose, please help us to continue the work we are doing. Any donation, big or small, will make a massive difference to the continuation and development of our services. Even just 1% would allow us to continue supporting older people in East Grinstead and the surrounding area for some time to come.
How to leave a gift in your will
Having a will and keeping it up-to-date helps ensure that your wishes can be respected and your property and assets benefit people and causes you really care about. We would always recommend that you speak to a qualified professional such as a solicitor, when making or amending your will.

Please note that if your will just has "Age UK" and not "Age UK East Grinstead and District" then the money will go to Age UK National and not us. Our running costs are not funded by Age UK National.
If you already have a will
If you already have a will and you want to include a gift to Age UK East Grinstead and District in it, there may not be need to rewrite it. You can ask a qualified professional such as a solicitor to add an amendment (called a codicil). As a general rule, if the change you wish to make is quite small or simple, you can use a codicil, and if the change is more significant or complex you should make a new will.
What kind of gift can I leave to Age UK East Grinstead and District?
