Fundraising and Marketing Manager

Three Days a Week (21 hours)

Salary - £32,000 -£35,000 pro-rata – based on experience

Reporting to: Chief Executive

Age UK Enfield is the leading charity in Enfield dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of older residents. We believe strongly in the value, independence, and engagement of older individuals, striving to help them remain connected, active, and able to live the life they choose. Our approach includes a wide variety of services and activities specifically designed to support each person’s unique needs, significantly enhancing their wellbeing and quality of life.

We are approaching an exciting new part of our journey which will see the two main aspects of our business – a dementia day care centre and our operational services – moving from their respective locations into a single destination. 

We are looking for an experienced fundraising and marketing individual to enable us to develop and manage our stakeholder engagement programme, to generate new revenue from existing activities, optimise opportunities around donors, legacies and sponsorship and run the marketing of activities and initiatives across the charity.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organisational goals and objectives
  • Build sustainable relationships with funders, donors, and stakeholders
  • Lead fundraising campaigns and support on high-value bids to secure vital funding
  • Manage grant applications and donor stewardship processes
  • Identify and cultivate corporate partnerships and community fundraising opportunities
  • Oversee individual giving and legacy programmes, ensuring effective donor engagement and retention
  • Oversee management of donor and legacy databases
  • Provision of reports fundraising targets and progress.

Marketing

  • Proactively promote the range of services available from AUKE – with particular emphasis in growing clients from around the geography of our new location.
  • Develop and manage core communications supporting the vision and activities of the charity
  • In collaboration with teams, develop engaging and informative copy for social media channels and website to ensure a consistent flow of relevant information across audience sectors
  • Proactively collate and prepare regular newsletters and communique for external and internal stakeholders
  • Oversee the charity’s website ensuring content is current and relevant
  • Support internal communications
  • In collaboration with SMT, support media and external relations

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience and knowledge

  • Proven experience in fundraising management - ideally with charity or related experience
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of fundraising regulations, best practices and trends
  • A track record of innovative marketing and communications development and delivery from strategic input to operational output
  • Communications experience across a broad range of channels, including use of social media
  • Experience of developing and managing a website, including knowledge of HTML and SEO (desirable)
  • Experience of effective project management, including campaigns
  • Experience of developing positive relationships with the press and media
  • Knowledge of Enfield and/or older people (desirable)

  • Ability to produce informative and engaging content and materials for a variety of channels and audiences
  • Ability to relate to and manage productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, working collaboratively with colleagues and supportive of team members
  • Good humour and a flexible approach to work

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound judgement and ability to handle competing priorities
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Office, digital platforms, design channels such as Canva
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Giving presentations to internal and external audiences
