Staff and customers at Sainsbury’s Pinhoe have been generously raising money for local charity Age UK Exeter. Each year the store shortlists three local charities per year and customers then vote for the one they want to be Local Charity of the Year. In May 2017 customers voted to support Age UK Exeter and since then staff and customers have been generously donating. The store, headed up by Manager Tony Gregg have raised an impressive £4937,37. Martyn Rogers, CEO of Age UK Exeter said “We are extremely grateful to Tony and his team for all their hard work over the last 12 months, the money will help us with our work tacking isolation and loneliness among older people in Exeter”.
