Age UK Devon - Enabling and Home Support Service
This service offers support and practical help to older people, including those with dementia, to help maintain their independence at home.
Silverton Memory Café
Here’s what the Memory Café say in their own words:
"Silverton Memory Cafe is an informal, social space where anyone can go for advice and support about living with the challenges of memory loss. A well established volunteer led group, Silverton Memory Cafe currently supports many local people living with the early stages of dementia. Our Memory Cafe was set up in June 2016 and provides information enabling individuals to connect with local health professionals in a neutral setting. On occasion, members of the Health Care Team may give a talk or advise on a particular aspect of memory loss."
The café is held from 2.00-4.00PM every Thursday at the Millenium Hall in Silverton Community Hall.

Dementia Carer Support Consultations
Two hour one-to-one or small family consultations delivered in person or via video call, offering a dedicated space to explore your individual concerns, deepen your understanding of dementia, and feel more informed about the support and services available. Together, we’ll also look at planning ahead to help reduce the likelihood of reaching a crisis point.
Following the consultation, you’ll receive a personalised reflective support guide with tailored recommendations and gentle signposting to relevant organisations and resources.
These consultations can be valuable both before and after a dementia diagnosis, when life can feel overwhelming and navigating the health and social care system can become challenging.
My aim is to work alongside you as a trusted extension of your support network, bringing compassion, understanding, and meaningful connection into everyday life, while helping you feel more informed, confident and prepared for the future.
The Filo Project
The Filo Project offers small group day care for people with early to moderate dementia and other age-related challenges, including isolation. A Filo day takes place in a host's home, providing a warm and welcoming space where lasting friendships are made. Home-cooked lunch and transport are provided, enabling people in rural areas to join. Support is offered across Devon. Carers can benefit from up to 6 hours of respite during each Filo day, and we also offer our complementary Filo Family Support Service to provide additional guidance and support for families and carers.
