Men In Sheds Shop volunteer role description

Interested in all thing’s tools, DIY, metalwork and carpentry whilst contributing to your local community?

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help in our Men In Sheds shop which is located in Paris Street, Exeter. The role is varied and will include, preparing items for sale, greeting & serving our valued customers, and taking cash & card payments.

An essential quality of the role will be to work in partnership with members of the public & colleagues.

The shop is open 3 days per week usually Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. 10am. - 3pm. We hope to increase the opening times of the shop which will include Saturdays. If you can help on one or more of these days, we would love to hear from you.

The Men In Sheds Shop sells donated tools and household equipment. The proceeds of which go to help continue The Men In Sheds project, whilst providing revenue to help Age UK Exeter continue it’s vital charitable services supporting older people across the city of Exeter.

The Men In Sheds project provides a fantastic opportunity for men who are 50+ to come together & receive the support of their peers. Whilst providing a charitable service repairing broken or unwanted garden tools and equipment. From time to time the project takes on other work and commissions.
