Walk on fire for Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable

firewalker.jpg

This is going to be your shortest, hottest and scariest walk of 2020 but you can help Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable by taking part and raising some funds for us at Buster’s Firewalk in Maidstone.

The event takes place on Sunday 30th October 2020 at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel in Maidstone. The Firewalk starts at 7pm but you will need to arrive at 5.30pm for check-in and your briefing.

The walkers will be trained by Scott Bell (Twice Guinness World Record holder for the greatest distance walked on fire) and then walk across hot coals with a temperature over 1000 degrees Fahrenheit!

Dominic Comins from the KM Charity Team and the Buster’s Book Club project urged people to take the challenge to support Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable:

“It sounds strange asking people to walk over hot coals, but it is all in the aid of charity! It is a mind over matter challenge and one that you can tick off your bucket list.”

Participants should aim to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. Seventy per cent of sponsorship raised goes to Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable and 30 per cent will go to the children’s road safety
department at the KM Charity Team.
