Celebrating a Milestone and a New Chapter

At the end of July, colleagues from across Age UK Islington came together for a summer picnic to welcome our new Chief Executive, Adam Moll and celebrate an extraordinary 30 years of service from our Support Services Manager, Asfaw Seyoum-Semunigus.
Adam joins Age UK Islington following five years of leadership from Sally Miller, and we are delighted to welcome him as we begin this new chapter for the organisation.
Speaking about joining Age UK Islington, Adam said:
"I'm delighted to join Age UK Islington and work alongside our brilliant, passionate staff team to help improve lives across the borough and beyond. With so much change around us there will be opportunities as well as challenges, and I'm looking forward to working with staff, clients and partners to ensure our vital services can support as many people as possible."
Reflecting on his 30 years with Age UK Islington, Asfaw said:
"It doesn't feel like 30 years, because every day is a new day and every day is different and I don't have any intention of going anywhere else! I feel privileged to be part of this organisation and its role in supporting the Islington community."
Thank you, Asfaw, for your 30 years of dedication, commitment and service to Age UK Islington. It is a remarkable milestone, and we're delighted to celebrate it with you.
We also extend a warm welcome to Adam as he joins the organisation, bringing a wealth of experience in health, social care, justice and homelessness.
As we celebrate the dedication that has shaped our past, we're excited to begin this new chapter together, continuing to build a more connected, supportive community in Islington.
