Better Together

  • Location: Age UK Lambeth
  • Price: Free

Better Together is a free social prescribing service delivered by Age UK Lambeth's dedicated Gambling Link Workers, supporting individuals who are experiencing gambling-related harm directly or indirectly (affected others). Through community outreach and professional education we aim to tackle the taboo around gambling and break down the social barriers that lead to gambling harms.

Are you worried about your gambling, or that of someone you love? Are you working with someone who is experiencing gambling-related harms?

The Better Together Service helps the community gain access to gambling support and 1-2-1 support sessions to address wider issues affected by gambling. The type of support we offer could include:

We provide one-to-one support to help with the practical and emotional impact of gambling, as well as raising awareness in the community. Our approach is person-centred, holistic and culturally sensitive, and the support we offer includes:

- One-to-one support, including access to therapy
- Help accessing specialist gambling support services
- Support around housing or finances
- Introducing you to a new activity or local club
- Signposting to services and organisations in your local area

We also organise regular get-togethers and group activities designed to reduce social isolation, which we know can be both a contributing factor to, and a consequence of, gambling-related harm.

The Better Space

The Better Space is our free community event, held on the last Thursday of every month from 4:30pm - 6:00pm at:

Vida's Community Centre, 2b Saltoun Rd, London SW2 1EP

We also host a monthly podcast on Brixton Radio in collaboration with BetKnowMore where we interview Community organisations in Lambeth as well as individuals with lived experience.
